Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF) 50+
UPF rating system shows how well a fabric protects your skin from solar UV. A garment with a UPF of 50 only allows 1/50th of the UV radiation falling on the surface of the garment to pass through it and blocks 49/50ths or 98% of the UVR. Over-exposure to solar ultraviolet radiation (UVR) can cause sunburn, skin damage and an increased risk of developing skin cancer. Funkier clothing with UPF 50+ provides one of the most convenient forms of protection against UVR which won't wear off.
